Integrated Sterilization and Drying Machine 2

Overview:

Harmless treatment equipment refers to a process in which carcasses of dead or diseased animals are first shredded and then conveyed into a sealed vessel pre‑filled with heated water at 180°C. While continuously agitated, a high‑temperature circulating heat source is introduced into the jacketed chamber to subject the animal tissues to high‑temperature, atmospheric‑pressure sterilization, thereby eliminating any pathogens they may harbor and mitigating the hazards associated with animal carcasses. During this process, the heat source does not come into direct contact with the animal tissues; instead, the moisture within the tissues is heated and vaporized, generating pressure. Following rendering, the material undergoes vacuum drying, degreasing, cooling, and grinding, ultimately yielding dry meat-and-bone meal and industrial‑grade fats—making this method the first internationally recognized approach for such treatment.

     Integrated Sterilization and Drying Machine

    I. Technical Overview
Harmless disposal of dead livestock and poultry is a critical step in preventing the spread of infectious diseases. The high‑temperature rendering process, an advanced technology developed in recent years, integrates automation, digitalization, and resource recovery, offering greater environmental sustainability while meeting energy‑saving, emission‑reduction, and circular‑economy standards. It features short processing times (approximately 6 hours per batch), low energy consumption, and a fully enclosed operation that eliminates wastewater and odorous emissions; recovered fats and residues can be reused, generating additional economic benefits. Key equipment includes a control system, feeding and crushing unit, rendering machine, dryer, conveyor, fat separator, oil storage tank, exhaust gas incinerator, and exhaust‑gas treatment facilities. This technology effectively inactivates pathogens, reduces processing costs, minimizes environmental pollution, and extends equipment lifespan, making it highly significant for the safe and environmentally sound management of dead livestock and poultry.

    II. Technical Highlights
    1. High-temperature method: Refers to a process in which diseased or dead animals and related products are treated at elevated temperatures within a closed, atmospheric-pressure system.
    2. Scope of application: Not applicable to animals infected with spore-forming bacterial diseases such as anthrax, nor to animals infected with bovine spongiform encephalopathy or scrapie, or to their products and tissues.

    III. High-Temperature Process Technology
    1. Control Integration Technology
It employs PLC-based automatic control, featuring automatic/manual modes, emergency protection, and self‑diagnostic fault detection. It is equipped with output and communication interfaces, enabling remote operation.
    2. Integrated Feeding and Crushing Technology
Equipped with a hoist, crusher, and automatic disinfection system, it enables automated feeding, crushing, and discharge. The entire process features enclosed conveying, with a flexible channel design that allows for pre‑processing of materials; after crushing, the material volume is ≤125 cm³ (5 cm × 5 cm × 5 cm).
    3. High-Temperature Integrated Processing Technology
The entire process operates in a closed system, with the vessel’s jacket heated by heat-transfer oil and other heating media, while the internal oil is mixed with the feedstock. Under atmospheric pressure, the temperature is maintained at 180°C for a duration of at least 2.5 hours (adjustable depending on the material). Heat is applied via an interlayer heated by heat-transfer oil, employing a counter‑current heating method.
The reactor features an internal stirring arm capable of simultaneous sterilization, mixing, and particle size reduction, thereby minimizing wastewater generation and environmental protection costs while enhancing oil extraction efficiency.
    4. Drying Integration Technology
The entire process is conducted under closed conditions, with jacketed heating; after rendering, the material is maintained at ≥160°C at atmospheric pressure for ≥2.5 hours (adjusted according to the specific feedstock). A dedicated reactor is used, with stirring arms simultaneously performing sterilization, mixing, and comminution.
Drying and a specially designed kettle wall reduce wastewater treatment costs and inputs, thereby enhancing oil extraction efficiency.
    5. Integrated Screw Conveyor Technology
The system is fully enclosed and automated, comprising stainless steel piping, a main shaft, helical blades, and a geared motor, and is responsible for material transfer between units, offering excellent containment.
    6. Integrated Oil–Water Separation Technology
The residue is processed by a screw press, which features an eight‑stage screw and a square gearbox. It operates smoothly, is durable and low‑noise, delivers high yield with excellent oilcake quality, and is equipped with safety devices for maintenance.
    7. Integrated Technology for Oil Storage Tanks
The entire oil‑transport process is fully enclosed, comprising stainless‑steel heated circulation pipelines (which utilize heat transfer oil to recover waste heat from cooling water), an oil storage tank, and a pumping system, ensuring a high degree of containment.
    8. Integrated Technology for Waste Gas Incinerators
The steam generated during the feeding and oil–fat separation processes is fully incinerated in a regenerative combustion chamber and, after being collected and treated by an automated system, is discharged into the exhaust gas treatment system.
    9. Integrated Exhaust Gas Treatment Technology
It consists of a two‑stage acid–alkali spray tower, a demister chamber, a wet electrostatic precipitator for dust and odor removal, and an ozone treatment unit. The exhaust gas is neutralized and de‑mistified in the spray tower before being recirculated for further treatment; odor control is achieved through a packed tower and a biofilter, followed by wet electrostatic purification. The treated effluent is then discharged via a 15‑meter chimney, ensuring that no odors are emitted from the plant site. Emissions comply with the Comprehensive Emission Standard for Air Pollutants, the Emission Standard for Odorous Substances, and the Control Standard for Hazardous Waste Incineration, thereby achieving green, environmentally friendly treatment.
