On the afternoon of April 7, Yuan Yanwen, Party Secretary and Director of the Provincial Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Bureau, led a delegation to conduct an inspection of the construction of a harmless disposal mechanism for dead livestock and poultry in Yueyang County.
Yuan Yanwen and his delegation conducted on-site visits to the Shengxiang Harmless Treatment Plant in Yueyang County, the Temporary Collection and Storage Site for Dead Livestock and Poultry in Yueyang County (Changhu Township), and the Monitoring and Management Center for the Collection and Treatment of Dead Livestock and Poultry in Yueyang County. They gained a thorough understanding of the operational status of the plant’s equipment and its treatment procedures, as well as the management systems and oversight measures in place at the monitoring center and the collection sites.
Yuan Yanwen expressed full appreciation for Yueyang County’s pilot initiative to establish a mechanism for the harmless treatment of dead livestock and poultry. He emphasized that ensuring the proper harmless disposal of such animals is essential, serving as the foundation for the green development of the animal husbandry sector. Building on this pilot program, Yueyang County should proactively explore comprehensive governance systems and mechanisms for the industry, setting a strong example for advancing harmless treatment of deceased animals across the province. He further urged the county to refine and upgrade the technological processes and infrastructure of its harmless‑treatment facilities, swiftly establish a complete industrial chain for this purpose, and accelerate its expansion to achieve sustainable development.
